Statement on the Passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

WASHINGTON, DC, September 18, 2020 –  Page Gardner, Founder and Board Chair of the Voter Participation Center made the following statement on the passing of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:

“It is with heavy hearts we mourn the loss of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a dedicated public servant, defender of justice and champion of women. From the early moments of her career as an attorney for the ACLU, to her 27 years on the Supreme Court, her legacy of advancing equity and justice for all is one that will be felt for generations to come. We celebrate her commitment to gender equity, to reproductive rights and to safeguarding our democracy. At this time of crisis in our country, we hope that our elected officials will heed her final words: ‘My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.'”
