Online Voter Registration

Yes, Connecticut has Online Voter Registration. Need Connecticut drivers’ license or ID card, and also have signature on file. You can register online here.

Voter ID

Strict = if no identification, voter must take additional measures after Election Day to have ballot counted

Non-strict = if no identification, voter still has option to cast ballot that may be counted without additional measures by voter

Connecticut has non-strict, non-photo ID requirements. Here are the approved forms of ID in the state of Connecticut:

Connecticut does not have “no-excuse” vote-by-mail.

Connecticut has no in-person early voting.

Automatic Voter Registration (Motor Voter)

Yes, Connecticut has Automatic Voter Registration implemented as of August 2018. AVR Automatically registers individuals when they apply for or renew a drivers license or nondriver ID card unless the applicant opts out.
