The latest on what we’re doing and what we’re paying attention to.
Today, the North Carolina State Board of Elections declared a new election in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District. Page Gardner, founder and president of the Voter Participation Center, released the following statement:
“The State Board of Elections is right. North Carolinians in the ninth Congressional District deserve a “do over” election, free from all fraudulent activities that were allegedly supported by the Harris campaign. What happened on election day in NC 9, was a brazen attempt to rig an election. The Republican candidate got caught. Mr. Harris is the new face of voter fraud in America — a fraudulent activity that was eventually exposed.
“As North Carolina voters prepare for the new election, the Rising American Electorate (RAE) is paying close attention to both words and deeds. This key demographic – made up of unmarried women, young people, and communities of color – will play an important — if not determinative — role in the state of North Carolina and across the nation.
“All eyes are upon these upcoming elections to make sure they are open, fair and free of fraud or suppression of any type.”
The Voter Participation Center registers and mobilizes the Rising American Electorate – unmarried women, people of color, and young people. VPC has registered nearly four million people since 2004 and works to inspire underrepresented groups to increase their civic engagement and permanently change the American electorate.
