Fight Racism: Vote

August 14, 2017

The Voter Participation Center (VPC) condemns the bigotry and racially-motivated violence that occurred in Charlottesville this weekend and encourages Americans to use our democracy’s most powerful weapon to fight back: the vote. Elections won’t end racism, but they can end racist policies, including voter suppression laws targeting communities of color and young voters and intended to shrink their power at the polls.

We honor and admire the Americans who are standing with Charlottesville and speaking out against this hatred. To make your voice even louder against the white supremacists who have been emboldened and encouraged since Donald Trump was elected, make sure you – and your family, neighbors, and friends – are registered and turn out to vote. Fight terrorism and state-sponsored discrimination: register to vote right here and now.
